SnapTrade Privacy Policy

SnapTrade ("we," "our," or "the App") is an AI-powered trading chart analysis application for iOS. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use the SnapTrade app.
1. Information We Collect and How We Use It
1.1 Information Stored on Your Device
The following data is stored locally on your device (using your device's storage, e.g. UserDefaults) and is not automatically sent to our servers:
- Analysis history: Chart images you upload, analysis results (trend, patterns, signals, support/resistance levels, risk assessments), and timestamps. This is saved so you can review past analyses.
- Onboarding status: Whether you have completed the in-app onboarding (e.g., a boolean flag). Quiz answers during onboarding are used only during your session and are not permanently stored by the App.
We do not operate account-based servers that store your personal profile. The data above stays on your device unless you delete it or remove the App.
1.2 Information Processed by Third-Party Services
To provide AI analysis and certain app features, the App sends data to the following third parties:
- Google (Gemini API): When you use chart analysis or the chat assistant, we send to Google's Gemini API: chart images (as base64-encoded data) and analysis prompts for chart analysis; your chat messages and, when relevant, context from your analysis (e.g., trend, signals) for the chat assistant; strategy details and analysis summary when you use "Check Strategy Match." This processing is necessary for AI-powered analysis and chat. Google's use of data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Google AI / Gemini terms.
- Superwall: We use Superwall to display paywalls and manage subscription-related flows. Superwall may collect device and usage information in accordance with Superwall's privacy policy.
- Apple: If you subscribe to Pro (in-app purchase), payment and subscription data are processed by Apple in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy and App Store Terms. We do not receive your payment card details.
1.3 Device Permissions
The App may request:
- Camera: To take photos of trading charts for analysis.
- Photo Library: To select existing images of charts for analysis.
These are used only for the features you use. You can revoke permissions in your device Settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to: provide chart analysis, pattern recognition, and trading-signal-style output; run the chat assistant and strategy-match feature; store your analysis history on your device for your convenience; present paywalls and manage subscriptions (via Superwall and Apple); improve app stability and experience. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Data Retention
- On your device: Analysis history remains until you delete it or remove the App.
- Third parties: Data sent to Google, Superwall, and Apple is subject to their respective retention and privacy policies.
4. Security
We use standard platform practices (e.g., secure storage on device, HTTPS for API calls) to protect data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you use the App at your own risk.
5. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and deletion on device: You can delete individual analyses from History. Uninstalling the App will remove locally stored data.
- Permissions: You can turn off Camera and Photo Library access in iOS Settings.
- Subscriptions: Manage or cancel Pro subscriptions through your Apple ID or in-app subscription management where offered.
- Privacy rights: Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights. To exercise them with respect to data we control, contact us using the details below.
6. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or higher age where required by law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us.
7. International Transfers
Data sent to Google, Superwall, and Apple may be processed in the United States or other countries. By using the App, you consent to such transfer and processing in accordance with their policies.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised when we do. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
